DESCRIPTION:
Toward the end of the volume, a single bundle of pages has since broken free of the cloth ties holding them to the binding. The break is clean and the pages are loose but largely undamaged [which involves the 2nd to last page.] These can be reattached to the binding easily enough by a book binder, book restorer or book preservationist. The pages are otherwise free of noticeable, appreciable damage, such as tears, loss, corner folds, mildew, foxing, tanning, water damage or other depreciating damage. A wonderful large folio volume with several full page color plates and several more black and white illustrations. This is a representation of the collection of the famed American collector of early fine art manuscripts from various cultures Henry Walters, who donated (willed) his private museum and its vast and important fine art holdings and cultural artifacts to the people and city of Baltimore, Maryland when he died in 1931, making it a public institution and available for all to subsequently view. The trustees of the Walter Art Museum published this volume of Henry Walter's important collection of early Armenian manuscripts and illustrations. Absolutely wonderful and a great addition to any fine art or world culture public or private library. Outstanding.
