Total of seven (7) birds. Five (5) of the birds are all signed by the artist 'L. Hoff' underneath their wings. 

DESCRIPTION:

'Killer' may not be an adequate enough of a superlative to describe this simply fantastic and undamaged, rare signed L. Hoff bronze flying pelican and burled wood sculptural assemblage. It's 100% complete and is a wonderful poetic symphony of birds in flight, in this case a collective of sea pelicans springing upward from their wooden perches and launching into the air, as if lined up gymnasts vaulting off a balance beam, somersaulting effortlessly up into the air. The sculptural assemblage consists of seven (7) separate bronze pelicans in various stages of flight and a burled root or branch, which acts as a perch. The kinetic movement and lift of the piece is astonishing, with the pelicans acting much like acrobats in various stages of hurtling their bodies upward, defying gravity and the limitations that all other fauna face. This is the exact moment when birds become gods and when they cease being mortal and become flying machines, soaring above all other mere mortals. Heavenly, celestial beauty. Sheer poetry and visual mastery. Magnificent. One thing it won't do is disappoint. What's looking back at you on your office desk, bookcase or fireplace mantle? Unmitigated beauty. Extraordinary.
