'The Science of Self Defence'
"A treatise on sparring & wrestling. Complete instructions in training and physical development. Several remarks upon and a course prescribed for the reduction of corpulency."
With dedication: 'To Charles G. Godfrey, Esq.
The Generous Friend & Accomplished gentleman. This work is affectionately dedicated by the Author.'
Hand writing by the previous owner on the first few blank pages that reads: A. H. Higgins, Hinsdale, N.H.
CONDITION:
Good to Very Good overall vintage condition. There's some minor wear on the top and bottom of the exterior cloth spine and some edge loss on the front paper label on the cloth front cover. The interior pages are complete and without any appreciable loss, debilitating corner folds or margin tears. The book was clearly previously read and referred to on occasion, as a result of its wear, which is commensurate with the volume's age. A rare, early 1st edition. Awesome.
