There's a slight, barely noticeable horizontal abrasion on top of the sword, where a badly wounded warrior is lying down, bleeding profusely from a head wound (located on the bottom right). With an inscription written on the dust cover in red ink that reads: 'Purchased summer 1983, Estate of W. F. Loel, Pride's Cussing, Beverly, Massachusetts on the North Shore.' This nearly unscathed and in what amounts to be in close to miraculous overall antique condition, estate fresh and absolutely new to the marketplace, early to mid 18th century antique Indian Mughal Empire illuminated miniature opaque watercolor manuscript painting on paper, features a full battle scene, with sword wielding soldiers on horseback charging at each other on an open plain, with mountains and a brightly colored, gold, gilt sky in the background beyond the mountains. Hand-to-hand combat featuring sword fighting, can be seen taking place, as well as dying or dead warriors, lying in the foreground. Exquisitely painted. Very fine. Simply incredible. From a well-appointed North Shore, Massachusetts estate to you. Absolutely magnificent. Killer.
