 DESCRIPTION:
A fantastic and extremely rare original work of art by the venerated and widely celebrated 20th century American graphic artist and painter LeRoy Neiman. This is a New York City framed original and authentic watercolor painting, titled 'Miss Vixen.' It was made in association with Woody Allen's 1965 film 'What's New, Pussycat?' The watercolor painting, aqueous mixed media, hand-to-surface work of art, features hand-drawn black ink line, with graphite under-drawing. It's not a serigraph print edition, printed copy or a later facsimile (a pixelated production print.) The original watercolor painting is still in its original, mid-20th century period walnut frame, with a polished brass insert decorative sleeve edge and has the New York City picture framer's paper label still affixed to the undisturbed and unopened brown paper dustcover on the verso. It's unsigned on the pictorial plane but since the work of art remains untampered with, unopened, 100% undisturbed and exactly how it was when it was discovered and taken from the finely appointed Boston estate it was initially found in, it may or may not be signed by the artist on the back of the paper. There's some very minor, nearly unnoticeable tanning of the paper, which would be considered consistent with and commensurate with the watercolor painting's vintage pedigree. The glycerin vehicle in the watercolor paint has gathered, 'pooled' and is shiny in places. Graphite under-drawing is also visible. Very rare. Killer. One of (3) three similar figurative watercolor paintings by the late American artist LeRoy Neiman after the 1965 film 'What's New, Pussycat?' directed by Clive Donner and Richard Talmadge and produced by Charles K. Feldman. Unopened and untouched. Absolutely magnificent.
