 DESCRIPTION:
Absolutely estate fresh and new to the marketplace. An outstanding early 20th century, American vintage circa 1920-1935, 2-sided, baked porcelain enamel advertising sign with a side wall mounting flange. The graphically very exciting, bright, 3-color, primary color, porcelain baked enamel surfaces are viscous, heavy and thick, with the stenciled letters appearing nearly embossed and with raised surfaces. Both sides of the sign are nearly blemish free, with one side remaining almost completely unblemished and intact, while the other side, bearing the exact same graphic iconography, has only a few episodes of very minor and slight oxidation and pitting on its surface. The colors remain vivid, bright, nearly completely saturated and in close to originally constituted condition. The only measurable and quantifiable damage to this 2-sided sign can be found around the sign's perimeter and outside margins, where the effects of moisture have eroded some of the steel plate edging, leaving it oxidized and even slightly jagged in a few places. The side flange where the sign would be wall mounted, is the most representative of this damage to its edges caused by moisture. This doesn't detract from viewing the sign and doesn't really interfere with the interior pictorial framed iconography of either side of this truly magnificent early 20th century American vintage 2-sided porcelain baked enamel advertising sign from Bird Roofs of Bird Neponset Products, formerly of East Walpole, Massachusetts. Very scarce and extremely hard-to-find. Killer.

DESCRIPTION:
Estate fresh. Just recently discovered in an old barn of a finely appointed, sprawling estate here in southern New Hampshire. Clearly signed with a branded stamp 'Old Hickory, Martinsville, Indiana' on the table's bottom crossbar. This wonderful, original and absolutely authentic Old Hickory of Martinsville, Indiana carved hickory side chairs, feature hand carved, fitted joinery and still largely intact original woven rattan seating. They're without fractures or other appreciable damage, less some slight bark loss and a minor to moderate scuff on one of the chairs. They were never covered in clear lacquer or varnish and maintain their original dry, matte surfaces. They're solid, stable and very well-preserved. The accompanying and absolutely outstanding carved hickory side table, has an oiled, rubbed wood plank, multi-board top, that still has demonstrable evidence it was used and used often in the northern New Hampshire hunting lodge where it was taken from, after it was brought back to the owner's principal residence, where it was subsequently found in the barn. The table is absolutely fantastic, with pegged side legs, supported by diagonal trusses, sitting on padded hickory feet. It resembles a hickory wooden Erector set with visible joinery and construction methods. 100% authentic. Original. Fantastic. Very rare and particularly scarce, especially in this kind of well preserved original vintage condition. Rare and simply outstanding. With winter's chill now in the still fall evening air, what are you decorating your ski chalet or winter lodge with, while you warm up with a cup of hot chocolate in front of the fire? Imagine this incredible set front and center in your home. Terrific.
